Our Story

How it all started

As a father, I wanted the best for my kids, and so I was looking for extra streams of income. I looked and everywhere, and since my family loves to travel, I thought to myself, what about selling travel products online. I was focused on finding a solution that would make it virtually impossible to lose your luggage at the airport.

At the same time, My son ( my oldest one ) was having confidence issues in daycare because his teacher was mean, and he grew scared of going to school. So after working with him to try to boost his self-esteem and talking several times to the teacher, we decided to look for the other daycare

That's when lightning struck ... What is I could put my son's art on a suitcase cover? It would make it virtually impossible to lose and would make him super proud and happy to spot is luggage at the luggage claim.

When I received my first sample, I was shocked at how cool it looked, and that's when I began to think what if this could be applied to other things like shoes, Jewellery, bags etc.

And so Kamikaze Bunnies was born!

How it all started

Kamikaze bunnies was born because I wanted to boost my son's self-esteem.

One day, when he was 5 years old, I picked him up from the daycare and went to see the drawings he had made that day.

His teacher told me, " Zackery didn't listen to the instruction; that's why his drawing is so ugly" I was F**ing pissed off.

I took a picture of his artwork because I actually really like it and left.

Right around that time, I was looking to start a new business and that very same day bout my son some shoes. After I bought the shoes, something just clicked in my head.

What if I put his art on shoes? It would make him feel like a million buck and would shut his teacher up.

Long story short .... a few months later, my son and I showed up to his school with shoes and a bag made from his art and at the end of the years, I pulled him out of that school.

It felt amazing to see the look on her face. At that point, I knew kids art was meant to go on shoes, travel bags and much more.

And so Kamikaze Bunnies was born!

Our Commitment.

One of the scariest thing as a parent is to have your kids get sick. When my wife was pregnant, we were informed that my daughter might have some heart issues. This threw me into panic mode because I was born with a heart malformation. A s a result of my condition; my youth was spent in the hospital. I had more surgeries then I can count, I've been blind, for several months, in a coma for several other months, and I even died for 2 minutes. So it goes without saying that I didn't want the same to happen to my daughter.

Without research, I would not be alive today, and so we have included a donation option on each product so that you can support heart research.

You can also support heart research with our buy-one-give-one program.

BUY ONE GIVE ONE

After my first heart surgery, I went into the comma for 2 months, and when I woke up was blind. 3 months within my blind life, my aunt came to visit me at the hospital and just like any regular aunt, she was playing with me making funny faces like she had done hundreds of times before.

But this time, I laugh. That's how my parents knew that I could see.

I like to say that laughter and happiness brought me out of the darkness.

This is why we have the BUY ONE GIVE ONE program. My kids were so happy and excited to see the shoes that they designed, and I know that any sick kid that creates their shoes or bags will experience the same joy.

Help put a smile on a Child and a family that could really use it!
